Regarding issues with Fedex, UPS or USPS

Please do not submit comments when you are needing help with Fedex, UPS or USPS modules for WordPress e-commerce. Please use the Contact form and supply the relevant information and ups.php or fedex.php for quicker help.

Update: I have started using a Fogbugz issue tracker to keep track of all requests through the contact form. When you send a request through the contact form you will get an automatic message with the tracking ID and a url to view your ticket with. No log-in necessary.

Shipping updates for WPEC or earlier

I have been working on major updates for the UPS, USPS and Fedex shipping modules for a number of months now. Due to time constraints, I have not been able to upgrade these to work with the latest version of the shopping cart. If you have a cart version or Earlier, I will be posting a patch for the common versions of the carts to upgrade you to the latest USPS and UPS modules.

To get a preview of some of the changes for USPS, check out my Wiki article here .

I am working on fleshing out this Wiki with common issues and requests and walk through instructions for setup. I know all too well the trial probably best portrayed by this XKCD comic .

I hope to have these patches published this weekend.

Do Not cross versions of the patch with different versions of the cart. The version listed is the absolute required version of the cart. This is due to a core file that must be updated and can cause problems if your versions are out of sync!

New Wiki

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I have started a wiki to keep track of how to configure and use man of the projects that I work on. Currently I have information on the new USPS module and how to set up PayPal Standard Payments 2.0 but I will be fleshing it out as I go along.

This is an effort to create more documentation for the wordpress e-commerce plugin and anything else I may work on!

USPS Testing Environment Issues

The USPS testing environment will not work for most API users at this time. If you are having issues with getting shipping rates and you have completed the following steps:

  1. Filled in weights for all products
  2. Selected a USPS in shipping
  3. Filled in the API key
  4. Filled in the Base City (with just a City name, don’t do [city], [state] – that never works!
  5. Filled in the Base Zip Code (With just the simple zip code, 28360 not 28350-8502 !
If you have not failed any of the above situations, try requesting production access for your USPS api key. Don’t worry, there is nothing that you can get charged for when using the rating API. When they approve your access, make sure the “Use Testing environment” box is unchecked in USPS settings and give it a try. If you are still having issues, just fill out my Contact form and I’ll help you through it !
