Filled in weights for all products

Filled in the API key

Filled in the Base City (with just a City name, don’t do [city], [state] – that never works!

If you have not failed any of the above situations, try requesting production access for your USPS api key. Don’t worry, there is nothing that you can get charged for when using the rating API. When they approve your access, make sure the “Use Testing environment” box is unchecked in USPS settings and give it a try. If you are still having issues, just fill out my Contact form and I’ll help you through it !

Hello everyone,

It seems that the United States Post Office decided to break our old USPS module for WP-E-Commerce when they installed the new version of their API. Bravo for reverse compatibility guys! Anyways, I have been working for the past few days trying like mad to get a new USPS module up and running on the new API. One of the changes that they made with the new API is that they are requiring package dimensions for international rating.

The need for dimensions is pushing forward my plans to release an Advanced Shipping module for WPEC that handles this and more. I have already built this for UPS and Fedex, I will now be adapting my new USPS module to work with this and release it as a plugin as soon as possible.

I am working tirelessly to get this out the door as I understand this effects a large number of people / sites.

Expect a postmortem post about my experience working with the USPS API.

I have added a poll (look to the right ->) to see if there is a need for the ability to set a shipping address per product or category for the case where different products may be shipped from different locations. This is most often seen when someone uses multiple drop-shippers but I have only personally been contacted by one person with that scenario. Please vote in the poll, if there are people that need this I will work on it!

Also, I have the ability to add in a secondary address if you use a different address than your HQ address for shipping. Please let me know if you need it !
